R.I.P. Henry
6/10/99-1/19/12
He’s been sick ever since I came home so I expected it.. He wasn’t eating when i left and started coughing again. I think its better this way, then he doesn’t have to suffer through heart operations or anything. I got a text this morning saying that he passed away.. he just stopped breathing. He already had troubles breathing because of that heart murmur. He wasn’t just my dog but he was my friend, teddy bear, and childhood.
I remember I got him when he was just 7 months old when I was about 7 years old. My parents wanted a pure bred chihuahua so we looked through the newspaper and went to a bunch of houses before we got Henry. When we finally arrived at the house that was selling Henry, there were only 3 puppies left. There was Henry, this little small black chihuahua and a mixed one. Out of the three, I wanted to get the smallest one! But my parents told me that having a small dog is going to be harder and it might die faster and blahbalbhal so I went with Henry, he was still cute.
My parents were really concerned that he was going to be one of those yappy chihuahuas because when we got there his parents were barking so much, but when we took him home he was so well behaved. Henry rarely barked unless you were the mail man or pretending to steal his food. I knew you weren’t supposed to touch dog’s food when they eat but when I was younger I would always test Henry’s limit. Lol I was so mean to him.. I would lightly pull his tail to see if he’d bite me, try to take his food…and other stuff.. no matter what I did to him he never bit me! He was such a sweety pie. As he got older he reminded more like a cat then a dog. He would cuddle with me sleep all day! For some reason he hated take pictures.. God he was so smart, everytime I took out my cell phone camera he would always turn away! He wasn’t very photogenic :) but he was so cuteeeee.
He lived a pretty long life since chihuahuas avg life span is 10-15 years. He fell right in the middle with 12 years and 7 months. I’m going to miss him so much.
